ESADA was formed in 2004 with the overall mission of increasing the trade in African dairy products. Specific ESADA objectives are to actively lobby for an improved policy environment conducive to regional and international trade with the new association already working with COMESA on the regional dairy policy agenda. Additionally, ESADA will assist members in the promotion and marketing of their products within the region and across the globe, as well as serve as a source of market information.
The ESADA membership base includes eastern and southern African firms producing high quality processed dairy products such as cheeses, UHT, yoghurts and fresh packaged milks. Related allied and supply industries may also become members of ESADA including packaging manufacturers, distributors, farmer coops, pharmaceuticals and supporting service industries.
